HAWARDEN RANGERS U/15 2008-2009 RYAN CUNLIFFE - (CAPTAIN) Centre midfield, moved into midfield a few games into the season, with great success. Ryan has dominated games and can split defences with his passing. Always liable to score a spectacular goal or two.. another excellent season. LUKE RICHARDS- Goalkeeper, Outstanding season for Luke, great handling, an excellent shot stopper and he reads the game really well. Saved us many points this season and in my opinion the best keeper in our age group. BRADLEY DAHL- Right back, Excellent season, never stops and always gives 100%. Has become a key member of the team with many fine performances, with Towyn, away, the one that really stands out. Well done Brad! JOE PERRY- Centre Half, Joe possess a good football brain and one of the best strikers of a ball in the squad he’s solid and dependable at the back, where he’s formed a good partnership with Mark. A good season. MARK JELLEY- Centre half, Marks first season with us, he was a good player when he signed but has got better as the season’s gone on. Very comfortable on the ball, strong in the tackle and has good positional sense. BEN EVANS - Left back, Another good season for Ben, one of the most consistent players in the squad. Excellent on the ball, likes to get forward but also sound defensively Great lad to have in the team MICHAEL ROSCOE - Right Midfield, Probably scored the goal of the season at Penyfford and that sums Michael up, determination, balance, strength, pace, and most of all ability, every season Michael improves on the last one. KYLE DAVIES - Centre midfield, The engine room of the team Kyle keeps driving the team on for the whole 80 mins. Excellent fitness levels and good in the air, a big player for us, Kyle has had another good season. MATTY VIRGO - Left midfield Matt has played mainly down the left, probably the quickest in the squad, which makes him a real threat to defences, Matt has built on last season with some fine performances and has scored some important goals. JORDAN WALKER- Striker Jordan’s first season and what a season, strong and powerful, very good in the air and finishes really well (Cymru away!), Jordan runs defences ragged and has formed an excellent partnership with Thomas. THOMAS BONNEY - Striker The best striker in our age group, Bonney hit nearly 50 goals this season, Scores allsorts of goals from tap ins to 20 yard screamers. We have developed and he uses to great success the ‘Delap throw’ off the pitch Bon is a great lad to have around the squad. A fantastic season! JAKE SELVESTER - Striker/midfield I think Jake has played in every position at sometime this season.Jake’s got good vision and likes to pass the ball. He improves every season and never gives short of 100% at training or in a match. JACK ANGLESEA- Midfield/ Full back. Jack has not been involved as much this season mainly due to work commitments! He gives his best at training and is an excellent squad member and always wants the best for the team. SCOTT CHATTERTON- Left midfield/ full back. Scott can play anywhere on the left. He posses a sweet left foot and can strike the ball really well. Another lad who is a good squad member and never moans or complains. MANAGER’S COMMENTS- A few thank you’s….. Firstly to Les, It can be a long season!! To Dave E and Dale for everything they do at training and match days. To Glyn for working with Luke, Steve and Vanessa for their help and support. Everybody who’s helped with the nets on a match day. To all parents and family members who make the team run smoothly. Lastly, a big thank you off the players, to Paul and Gwen and Steve and Vanessa for next season! A really enjoyable season where the team have improved again. The lads have played excellent football and in my opinion on their day, there is no-one to match them in the league. |
